This type of meeting is best for brief discussions, general problem-solving, and connecting you with campus resources:
- Have the bus routes tripped you up?
- Does the campus feel large and do not know where to start?
- Have a question about [academics, finances, navigating campus, getting involved] and not sure who to talk to?

Scheduled Appointments
After the start of each semester, our team is available to meet by appointment during the academic year.
- Monday - Friday 9:00a.m. - 4:00p.m. (September-April)
- May be conducted via phone, Zoom, or in person

- In Crisis?

If you find yourself in a crisis during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 am until 5:00 pm), call CAPS at 848.932.7884 and ask to speak to the on-call counselor. After hours, or on university holidays, follow the prompt to “speak to a counselor immediately” to access a crisis counselor.
If you have an immediate emergency that cannot wait and/or CAPS is closed, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.

Dean of Students - Advocacy, Outreach, and Support offers students a space to share and discuss complex life circumstances impacting academic success. They strive to provide access, understanding, and intervention for those seeking assistance.

- Virtual Drop-In Hours - Best for brief discussions, general problem-solving, resource identification and referrals, and special requests related to absences that cannot be addressed via the Absence and Verification Request Form.
- Scheduled Appointments - Best for more complex circumstances or multi-layered concerns that requires in-depth discussion, review of documentation, referrals, etc.
- Absence and Verification Notices - If you are absent for a day or two, you should use the Self-Reporting Absence site to record your absence. If an instructor or advisor requests verification, and documentation is available, requests can be made online for an Absence and Verification Notice. Attending Drop-In Hours or scheduling an appointment is recommended for extended absences, if documentation is not available, or for complex circumstance.
